Many people seem to visit this site and think maybe I am not in business because my site is a dog’s breakfast that seems to be rarely updated and so forth!

Please let me assure you that this is most certainly NOT the case!

I am still selling Kozys faster than I can order them, and holding lots of workshops in my living room for mamas wanting to wear their babes. The thing is that raising a busy toddler and a wee babe, whilst also trying to save home birth in Australia and make a documentary about birth in this country makes life REALLY busy!

At the moment I do this mostly because I LOVE babywearing and want to help as many parents to learn how easy, handy, and beautiful it is to wear your babe close to your heart. So, even though we look a bit rough, we’re also the cheapest supplier of the fabulous Kozy in the country, AND we offer personalised, caring and attentive service to help you feel as comfy and confident as possible…

So drop me an email on snuglittlebug@gmail.com or phone me for a chat on 0430 378 388

Currently stocking Kozys, Storchs, Vatanais and Maya wraps.

Asian-style carriers, or Mai Tais as they are commonly called are a wonderful introduction to babywearing or an excellent addition to any sling stash. These versatile carriers allow you to carry your child on your front, facing in or out, on your back, and on your hip. They are very simple to use and have a lot less fabric than a wrap, which makes them an excellent choice for a nervous first-timer, or a wearer who doesn’t want to have their whole outfit obscured by voluminous fabric!

Essentially, asian-style carriers have a sturdy piece of fabric with four long straps. These days there are a myriad of different versions that all have variations on how the straps are attached, the length of the body, and other attachments to enhance the ride for you and your babe.

However, I think that there is one Mai Tai that really is the pick of the bunch, and its this carrier I am stocking and promoting with 5 huge gold stars;

THE KOZY CARRIER

Out and about with the Koz

Dads will wear the Kozy too!

Big pram or compact Kozy?!

The Kozy Carrier is a modern take on an ancient design. What I love about this carrier is that a mum worked out all the things missing from other carriers and designed and manufactured her own! When you put it on you can feel the benefits of this careful and meticulous design.

The Kozy features a wide padded shoulder straps, a tall body with a curved and lightly padded head support (the body can be folded to suit all sized babies), and is fashioned from a durable tough fabric. Suitable from birth through to childhood, the Kozy is excellent value. It also includes a secret zip pocket for stashing money or keys.

The Kozy can be worn with babe in front, on the hip, and on the back. It is also suitable for use when pregnant. It is suitable for a tiny newborn or a big strapping late toddler. I can also vouch for this carrier being an awesome choice for those with low back problems. You can wear bub nice and high and I have done 10km plus walks in the Kozy with no pain whatsoever.

The Kozy won't obscure your gorgeous outfit!

The Kozy Carriers are reversible, so you can choose a gorgeous fabric and have a basic black or tan side that Dad will be happy to wear!

This is the ideal carrier for:

* People who want one versatile sling that will suit different wearers

* Those who want one sling from birth through to childhood

* The fashion conscious who don’t want a carrier to ruin their outfit!

* People who want an easy way of having their babe sleep on their back while out and about

For more information about the Kozy Carrier, including pricing, and a gallery of pics, please click here.

WOVEN WRAPS — A BRIEF INTRODUCTION

A good woven wrap is an absolute joy for baby and wearer alike. When tied well, you feel as if you could wear your baby for the whole day; you’ll want to keep them there and enjoy the supreme comfort and snuggliness! Many people are intimidated by wraps because they look complicated or difficult. I am constantly getting asked if I need help when I put my boy in a rucksack back carry at the park or the supermarket!

Although this type of carrier does have a somewhat steep learning curve, I always say that once you’ve done it successfully 4 times, you’re an expert! I learnt to use the wrap by watching videos on Youtube (I have links to those videos in my Links section) and then I purchased a copy of Tummy2Tummy, which is like the bible of babywearing instruction!

You only need to know one carry to use your wrap. If you have a newborn, a front carry is a perfect start. With a heavy older toddler, a basic back carry is a joy! I have carried my heavy boy for many km in a woven wrap, with complete comfort.

The main thing is to take your time and be methodical. If something feels too loose, or is not sitting right, it pays to go back and fix it, rather than muddling through, because a poorly tied wrap is NOT a comfortable experience! That said, I know EVERYONE can easily learn how to tie a wrap, because it is so simple…

WHICH WRAP IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Essentially you could take any piece of fabric, provided it was long and wide enough and you could carry your baby. However, to properly support both baby and wearer, and to be comfortable for any length of time, a woven wrap specifically designed for babywearing is a must! I stock two kinds at the moment, and each caters for slightly different needs.

Storch Wrap

The Storchenwiege (Storch for short!) is a German sling wrap of impeccable quality. Developed by a baby-loving grandfather textile engineer, these wraps are fashioned from strictly regulated cotton farms and are all Oeko Text 100 certified cotton, free from chemicals or residue in the fabric.

The Storch has a unique double-weave, which makes it incredibly strong and supportive, and no other wrap-style sling is made in this way. It’s also beautifully soft and warm. The Storch comes with an instructional DVD that will have you tying in no time!

This is the ideal sling for:

*People with problems or weaknesses in the lower or upper back or shoulders

*Carrying heavy babies and toddlers

* Cool climates

Welcome to Snug Little Bug, home of the most comfortable, versatile and stylish baby carriers on the web! Perhaps you want to shop for a first carrier, expand your stash, discover links to instructional pages and videos, or learn about the practicalities of babywearing. You’ll find all this and more here at Snug Little Bug HQ.

Follow the links to discover more about the different types of baby carriers, view the products I stock, read the FAQs, see pics and vids, and explore the babywearing community through the links page.

My name is Kimba, I’m a jazz singing, babywearing mama to one bright little boy. I started wearing him from birth. I have suffered with low back pain for many years and found that trying to manouvre a pram on and off trams and through the city exacerbated my back badly. Babywearing with a supportive wrap (the Storch) not only eased this issue, but, over time I was able to build up strength in my back to the point I recently did a 12km walk with my 10kg bub on my back (in the marvellous Kozy Mei Tai)! I’m now pram-free and my little one delights in being close to me on our outings and seeing the world from my point of view.
